अनुवाद : एक जंगल में दो दोस्त थे, एक आम का पेड़ और एक बरगद का पेड़। वे आपस में बातें करते थे और दिन भर मौज-मस्ती करते थे। हर रात शेर और बाघ उनके नीचे सोते थे। आम का पेड़ जानवरों से नफरत करता था। “मैं उन्हें दूर भगाऊंगा, वे जोर से गरजेंगे, और बुरी गंध करते हैं ,” उसने कहा। बरगद के पेड़ ने कहा, “इतना कठोर मत बनो। हम पेड़ों और जानवरों को एक दूसरे की जरूरत है। हमें सद्भाव से रहना चाहिए और एक दूसरे की मदद करनी चाहिए।

अनुवाद : आम का पेड़ सख्त था। वह उसकी एक सुनने को तैयार नहीं था। उस रात जब जानवर पेड़ के नीचे सो रहे थे, आम के पेड़ ने अपनी डालियों को हिलाया और जोर-जोर से शोर मचाया। जानवरों ने सोचा कि यह एक राक्षस था और सब भाग गए। आम का पेड़ हँसा और प्रसन्न हुआ। अगली शाम दो लकड़हारे जंगल में आए। उनके हाथों में कुल्हाड़ी थी। उन्होंने आम का बड़ा पेड़ देखा और बहुत खुश हुए। लकड़हारे में से एक ने कहा, हे मित्र, देखो यह कितना बड़ा पेड़ है! दूसरे ने कहा, “हाँ, और यहाँ न तो कोई है, न मनुष्य, न जंगली जानवर। तो चलिए पेड़ को काट देते हैं।”

अनुवाद : वे पेड़ काटने लगे। आम का पेड़ दर्द से कराह उठा। अपने दोस्त की हालत देखकर बरगद का पेड़ मदद के लिए चिल्लाया, “मदद करो! मदद करो!” जंगली जानवर आवाज सुनकर बरगद के पेड़ की ओर दौड़ पड़े। जैसे ही लकड़हारों ने जंगली जानवरों को देखा, तो वे अपनी कुल्हाड़ियों को छोड़कर जितनी तेजी से भाग सकते थे, भागे। आम के पेड़ की आंखों से आंसू छलक पड़े।

उन्होंने कहा, “आप सही थे मेरे प्यारे दोस्त। हमें खुश और सुरक्षित रहने के लिए एक दूसरे की जरूरत है।” जंगली जानवर आम के पेड़ के पास चले गए और कहा, “देखभाल और साझा करने से ही दोस्ती का जन्म होता है।” “मैंने तुमसे कहा था, हमें जानवरों की जरूरत है और उन्हें हमारी जरूरत है। अगर हम एक-दूसरे की मदद नहीं करते हैं, तो हम मुसीबत में पड़ सकते हैं,” बरगद के पेड़ ने कहा।
